BBEnDHYTSy4XF1YFp7wekwzZT2ybmjsfQfsKbMAiURY9This week the agentic commerce story grew up. Instead of splashy launch-partner announcements, the week belonged to the plumbing underneath: a security firm finding AI agents already inside half of its enterprise customers, vendors selling governance for the employees’ homebrew connectors, and a developer exposing an entire business operating system to every consumer agent with no API keys at all. The message from Cequence, Runlayer, Zapier and Eterna was consistent β the agents are already in the building, and the real business now is managing them, not just welcoming them.

This week in Muse innovation
Monday: quiet day
No new business-relevant pick surfaced on Monday’s scan β only repeats of earlier picks from the last 30 days.
Tuesday: Cequence Security’s “Agent Trust” launch
Two weeks after Muse’s launch, security firm Cequence found agentic traffic at more than half of its enterprise customers across financial services, retail, travel and software. Muse runs a real Chrome instance, routes via consumer VPN, presents no bot headers and can even complete MFA on a user’s behalf β so Cequence’s new Agent Trust capability offers behavioural detection, a live agent inventory, and per-request stop/slow/challenge controls instead of blunt session-wide bans. Wednesday: call4me custom connector, built by the agent itself
A developer documented Muse building its own integration to call4me’s hosted phone-calling server from a single chat prompt β the agent wrote an MCP client on its dedicated computer, fixed its own import error, entered the API key through the secure Connect card, and saved it all as a reusable skill. Days later a fresh conversation reused that saved skill to place a real outbound informational call to San Francisco’s Main Library, returning a transcript and a WAV recording. It’s agents self-provisioning new business capabilities without any vendor involvement. Source
Thursday: Zapier named connector inside Muse
Zapier became a named connector inside Muse, giving the agent governed access to 9,000+ apps and 40,000 actions through a hosted Zapier MCP β with per-app and per-action approvals and credentials managed by Zapier itself. On top of that, Next Gen Zaps lets Muse build and deploy automations from plain-language descriptions. Source
Friday: Runlayer enterprise governance for Muse
Runlayer announced a single governed plugin endpoint meant to replace employees’ unreviewed self-built custom connectors β 18,000+ supported MCPs plus custom internal connectors, on-behalf-of auth with IDP/SCIM group sync, deterministic policies with human-approval gates, SIEM-exportable audit logs, and runtime prompt-injection and exfiltration scanning on every tool call. It also promises to discover ungoverned “shadow AI” Muse use already running inside the company. AngelList, Gusto, Baseten and PagerDuty are cited as users. Source
Saturday: quiet day
Saturday’s scan turned up only repeats of earlier picks β the Muse for Small Business launch coverage, HighLevel, Intuit/QuickBooks, Zapier, Runlayer, the Personal Agent Protocol β plus out-of-scope items like model releases rather than agent/commerce news. Nothing genuinely new and business-relevant surfaced.
Sunday: Eterna Custom Systems remote connector
Developer Jesse Gamble exposed a real business operating system β 91 operations across 13 business areas β through a single remote-tool connector that consumer AI agents (Muse, ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Mistral Vibe) can connect to with no API keys. Reads execute immediately, irreversible writes require the owner’s approval, and every call lands in an audit log on the business’s own PC. Source
